The Club holds a number of ‘Come and Try’ days for anyone genuinely considering getting into go karting. And the best part is, the cost is FREE!
The karts used at Sapphire Coast Kart Club are unlike any hire kart you may be familiar with. The karts are competition spec’, 2 stroke, high-revving race karts designed for one thing – going very, very fast! For example: The karts used in the Cadet 9 class (filled with 7 to 9 year old kids) are 60cc, rev to around 14,000RPM and do 80km/h every single lap of the Frogs Hollow Circuit. Seniors use 125cc water-cooled motors capable of a lot more than that.
For the Come & Try days, you will need to wear protective equipment including gloves that cover the wrists, boots that cover the ankles, one-piece race-suit and of course a helmet. The Club has some protective equipment; however these do not always suit everyone. If you have your own protective equipment then please bring it along.
You will be given a briefing on rules and instruction on the operation of the kart before getting on track. There is an opportunity to meet our members and ask any questions you may have about getting into go kart racing.
You will also need to complete an Indemnity Form which is available at the track. Or you can print / complete this in advance and bring it along on the day.
Bookings are essential, so please contact the club Secretary to register your interest.
